As the days go by...

Whoops! Where does the time go? I haven't blogged in a couple of months, mostly because I've been busy ignoring the shambles that my garden has turned into in late summer. I can't quite believe that the same garden that hundreds of people came to see in December now looks someone tore a strip through it with a whipper snipper. There are fermenting pears everywhere, the barley has been harvested but I'm yet to dig over the stubble (although I have got around to at least buying the seed potatoes I'm going to plant in its place). My spring flower bed have undergone the classic cottage garden meltdown: everything is seeding or dying. The dahlias have fallen over and the earwigs have nibbled the petals off almost all of the remaining blooms. Sigh. At least the veges are going strong. I just discovered a couple of cauliflowers that I don't even remember planting are starting to heart up nicely despite my neglect. And the capsicums are thriving, along with the chillies. It has been the worst season for tomatoes I've ever had though. Not that I mind that much. I don't really like tomatoes. Although I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all the basil I've grown if I don't have tomatoes to eat it with.
